Description
14" (36 cm). Solid domed bisque socket head with
oval facial modeling and defined strong chin,
blue glass inset eyes, dark upper eyeliner, thick
brushstroked brows with highlight glaze, aquiline
nose, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed
mouth with firmly shaped lips, thick brown
moustache, white mohair wig, composition and
wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: maker uncertain, possibly
Dressel, circa 1900. Value Points: very rare
model with wonderfully defined unique features,
moustache, choice bisque, original black costume
with highly starched collar and cuffs, tall
leather boots, suggestive of Pilgrim John Alden
of the Mayflower.
