Description
17" (43 cm). Solid domed composition socket
head with deeply sculpted facial features
portraying a wide-eyed young boy, painted
brown eyes, lightly feathered brows, aquiline
nose with rounded tip, accented nostrils,
closed mouth well-defined lips, sculpted ears,
brunette mohair wig, composition and
wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: K I 6 (?, impressed on head).
Comments: Marion Kaulitz, known as the
Munich Art Doll, the model was exhibited at the
Munich Doll competition in 1908. Value Points:
a wonderful early example of Kaulitz doll with
superb sculpting, original finish, original body
and body finish, the doll wears its original
Danish Boy Scout uniform with emblems and
accessories.
