Description
12" (30 cm). Bisque socket head, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig, firmly shaped upper torso, bisque arms with cupped fingers, cone-shaped carton skirt over clockwork mechanism with three wheels on base. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: maker unknown, circa 1885, when key wound and lever released, the doll glides forward, twirls and turns. Value Points: the walking doll is preserved in unplayed with condition, wearing original silk and lace costume in her original box labeled "laufpuppen".
