Description
21" x 15". A five-sided room with folding sides
is decorated in the Napoleon III style having
original wall-paper, and wall treatments, two
tall multi-paned windows, extravagant wall
mirror with gilt paper frame, original lace
curtains with gilt paper valences, three
painting withs gilt paper frames, faux-wood
floor, and is furnished richly, viz. wooden day
bed with gilt ormulu canopy top, fireplace
mounted with elaborate gilt ormulu mantel
clock, two armchairs, and four side chairs, the
upholstered pieces with original faux-quilted
fabric covers and gilt ormulu paper trim. The
entire room folds flat for storage in the
original
box, which is included; the furniture can be
store atop the folded room walls. French, circa
1865, the presentation is attributed to the
workshops of Denis Badeuille who advertised
"children's toy furniture upholstered in satin,
velvet, percale...whole apartments..." An
outstanding room in fine larger size with very
deluxe detailing.
