4" (10 cm). The tiny doll with porcelain head, painted black hair in tight curls to the head, painted facial features, muslin body, porcelain limbs, is clothed in her original tiny costume composed of minute seashell particles; in order to achieve the proper proportions for the tiny doll, the mauve, grey and cream shells were slivered and then re-attached in the proper shapes of blouse, vest, skirt, apron, petticoat and slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1860, Value Points: diminutive size shell-costumed doll from the Brittany coast has perfectly preserved wonderful costume.
