Description
17" (43 cm). All cloth doll with pressed and oil
painted facial features and hair, detailed
painting of curls onto forehead, modeled ears,
brown shaded eyes with large black pupils, black
and brown upper eyelilner, single stroke brows,
accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth
with pouty expression, blushed cheeks, stitch-
jointed arms, disc-jointed legs, separately
stitched thumb, antique cotton dress,
undergarments, apron, shoes, socks. Condition:
generally excellent, some paint flakes atop head.
Marks: 64064. Comments: Kathe Kruse, circa 1920.
Value Points: beautiful original finish is well
preserved, the little child has unusual
expression achieved by deeply sculpted temples
and rich painting, perfectly preserved original
signed body.
