13"(33 cm). Bisque socket head with ebony black complexion, dark brown glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes, black brushstroked brows with feathered detail, accented nostrils, closed mouth with coral shaded lips, pierced ears, black fleecy hair, French black composition and wooden fully jointed body, antique white cotton dress, undergarments, shoes. CONDITION: Generally excellent. MARKS: Paris Bebe 4 (impressed). COMMENTS: Danel et Cie, the doll has the distinctive wooden neck attachment bulb; it was made for one or two years, circa 1889, until a trademark lawsuit was won against Danel by Jumeau. VALUE POINTS: Rare model with original body and stringing, outstanding quality of complexion with enhancing lustrous patina.
