Description
13" (33 cm). Pressed bisque socket head with rounded facial modelling and bulbous throat, painted facial features, shaded blue eyes with glazed highlight at lower rims, heavily modelled eyelids with black liner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, unpierced ears, pale blonde lambswool wig, French composition and wooden body with plump limbs and unjointed wrists, antique cotton dress, undergarments, coiffe with lavender ribbons. CONDITION: Generally excellent, body and head are not original to each other. MARKS: Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). COMMENTS: Adelaide Huret, circa 1880. VALUE POINTS: Very beautiful and rare dreamy-eyed bebe has wonderfully painted features whose delicacy balances the plumply modelled face.
