11" (28 cm). Bisque socket head, black glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, open mouth, four teeth, blonde mohair wig, carton torso with bellows squeeker, wire upper arms and legs, carved wooden hands and lower legs. CONDITION: Generally excellent. MARKS: (anchor symbol) France. COMMENTS: Lanternier, circa 1910. VALUE POINTS: Wearing his original silk Marquis costume with gold metallic braid trim, the doll has loop with attached bells and cord for carrying to an evening fete, and is contained, unplayed with, in his original box labelled "Marotte Soufflet a sifflet"; when torso is squeezed he squeaks.
