Description
17" (43 cm). Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulderplate, almond shaped blue glass
enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, dark
eyeliner encircles the eyecuts, painted lashes,
arched feathered brows, accented eye corners,
shaded nostrils, pierced ears, closed mouth with
shaded and accented lips, defined space between
the lips, pierced ears, nicely shaped dimpled
chin, blonde mohair wig over original lambswool
wig and cork pate, kid bebe body with square-cut
collarette, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and
knees, bisque arms from below the elbows,
separately sculpted fingers with defined nails
and knuckles. CONDITION: Generally excellent.
MARKS: F. 1 G. COMMENTS: Francois Gaultier, circa
1880. VALUE POINTS: The early kid-bodied bebe
with block letter markings has superb bisque and
painting, brilliant eyes, original body with
superb condition, perfect bisque hands, bronze
wool and velvet dress and bonnet appear original.
