Description
16" (40 cm). White bisque head with flanged neck
is modelled with wide laughing expression and
dimples, blue glass inset eyes, red upper
eyeliner and facial clown decorations, closed
mouth with wide smiling expression, row of
painted teeth, brushstroked brows, wooden block
torso with bellows which, when squeezed, causes
musical tune to play and the jester to clap
together the cymbals he holds in his hands, wire
upper arms and carved wooden lower legs with
painted shoes. CONDITION: Generally excellent.
MARKS: 7, COMMENTS: Zinner and Sohne, circa 1890.
VALUE POINTS: Rare larger size with luxury
features including character model face, musical
bellows, and wearing original fanciful costume.
