13" (33 cm). Bisque socket head of slender-faced older boy with sculpted hair arranged in deeply modelled tousled curls onto the forehead, painted facial features, deep eye sockets with pale blue eyes, black upper eyeliner, one stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, composition and wooden ball- jointed body. CONDITION: Generally excellent. MARKS: 153 S&H. COMMENTS: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910, from their art character series. VALUE POINTS: Very rare portrait of wistful-faced older boy with outstanding detail of modelling andpainting, original body and body finish, antique flannel costume with matching cap, leather boots.
