Description
20" (51 cm). Cloth doll with pressed and painted
facial features, shaded blue eyes with brown iris
outline and two white eyedots, black and brown
upper eyeliner, one stroke brows, accented
nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips,
brunette mohair braids, firmly stuffed muslin
body with defined stitching at knees and elbows,
separate thumb. CONDITION: Generally excellent,
few spots on apron, few tiny holes in dress.
MARKS: 2186 (red stamp on foot) Kathe Kruse
(signature on foot). COMMENTS: Kathe Kruse, a
letter from the Kruse factory identifies the doll
as Ilsebild, with the name of Leila, made in
1929. VALUE POINTS: All original doll wears
floral printed dress, undergarments, apron,
shoes, and socks.
