Description
16" (40 cm). All-felt doll with exaggerated
slender body and elongated limbs has felt swivel
head with center-seam, black bead eyes, pointy
nose and chin, stitched-on ears and black cap,
white mohair hair, jointed shoulders and hips,
stitched-on black and white felt suit with bow
tie and very large feet with black shoes and felt
soles. CONDITION: Very good, surface dust, wig
sparse. MARKS: Steiff (button in ear). COMMENTS:
Steiff, circa 1911, from the early series of
character dolls developed by Arthur Schlopsnies
for Steiff. VALUE POINTS: Rarer model from this
series with amusing caricature depiction.
