Description
17" (43 cm). All cloth doll with hard-pressed and
oil painted hair and facial features, brown
painted hair with wispy curls onto the forehead,
sculpted ears with blushing detail, grey eyes
with spiral threading, black and brown upper
eyeliner, accented nostrils, closed mouth with
pouty expression, blushed cheeks, muslin body
with hip-jointed chubby legs, stitch-jointed
shoulders, separately sewn-on thumbs. CONDITION:
Generally excellent. MARKS: Kathe Kruse M 89
(left foot). COMMENTS: Kruse, circa 1915. VALUE
POINTS: Very beautiful painting of solemn-faced
child is wonderfully preserved, original Dutch
child costume including embroidered cap,
undergarments, wooden shoes.
