16" (40 cm). Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted dark lashes, heavily modelled eyelids, feathered arched brows, accented nostrils of aquiline nose, closed mouth with up- turned lip corners as though smiling, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid fashion body with shapely waist and derriere, gusset jointing of hips and knees, wooden arms with dowel-articulation at shoulders, elbows and wrists. CONDITION: Bisque excellent, kid body quite worn and patched, wooden arms very good with original painted finish worn. MARKS: E. COMMENTS: Leon Casimir Bru, the first non-deposed model of the smiling Bru, circa 1868. VALUE POINTS: A very beautiful face with choice painting, wooden Bru arms, antique costume of royal blue with patterned white blouse, undergarments, shoes.
