Description
14" (35 cm). Wax-over-paper mache shoulderhead,
grey/blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner
encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, feathered
brows, accented eye corners, closed mouth with
downcast pouty lips, blonde mohair wig, straw-
filled muslin body with bellows "mama" crier, wax
over paper mache lower arms and legs, painted
stockings and black heeled shoes. CONDITION:
Generally excellent. COMMENTS: Germany, circa
1880. VALUE POINTS: In wonderfully preserved
unplayed with condition, the doll has original
wig, body, and elegant costume comprising aqua
silk dress with bustle and lace trim that matches
trim on pantalets, undergarments, silk bonnet,
necklace, earrings, and hair ornament.
