Description
12" (30 cm). Bisque shoulderhead doll has pale
blue glass enamel eyes, painted lashes, rose
blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered
brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed
mouth, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, padded
armature body for posing with bisque forearms and
carved wooden lower legs. CONDITION: Generally
excellent. COMMENTS: Circa 1890. VALUE POINTS:
The all-original lady wears her folklore costume
of the Normandy region of France including lace
coiffe, and is standing alongside an attached
rose-silk-covered box with removable lid
labelled "Voila les Plaisirs Mesdames" (Here are
treats for Madame). The all-original presentation
was a luxury candy box from prestigious Parisian
confiserie of the late 19th century.
