28" (71 cm). Bisque socket head with hand-pressed detail of modelling and distinctively shaped head, small brown glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted curly lashes with "dot" highlights, incised eyeliner, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth modelled as though open with beaming smiling expression, shaded and outlined lips, two rows of porcelain teeth, shaded tongue, separately modelled pierced ears, deeply impressed dimples and laughter lines, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body, grey silk taffeta dress with lace trim, undergarments, ruffled lace bonnet, Jumeau stockings, black leather shoes signed "12". CONDITION: Generally excellent. MARKS: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 12 (and artist's checkmarks on head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). COMMENTS: Emile Jumeau, from the firm's 200 character series introduced in 1892. VALUE POINTS: Extremely rare large size of the character model has exceptionally fine quality of bisque, sculpting and painting, original body and body finish.
