Description
14" (35 cm). White bisque socket head with
elaborately painted clown decorations, brown
glass inset eyes, red eye outline, closed mouth
with exaggerated painting of mouth, pierced ears,
fleecy mohair wig of red and green, French
composition jointed at shoulders and hips.
CONDITION: Generally excellent. MARKS: Eden Bebe
H Paris (head) Le Petit Parisien (body).
COMMENTS: Fleischman and Blodel, circa 1895.
VALUE POINTS: The wonderfully decorated clown has
original wig, wears original silk clown costume
and slippers; the clown owns an all-celluloid
donkey with "nodding" head, calico costume,
saddlebags.
