Description
21"(53 cm) doll. Bisque socket head, blue glass
sleep eyes, painted long curly lashes, feathered
brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, open
mouth with accented lips, two upper teeth,
brunette mohair bobbed wig, composition bent limb
baby body. CONDITION: Generally excellent. MARKS:
G.B. 12. COMMENTS: Marseille, especially
commissioned for George Borgfeldt, circa 1915.
VALUE POINTS: Fine dewy patina bisque enhances
the character like expression, well-detailed
antique baby costume and bonnet. The doll is
resting in its antique woven baby bed lavishly
covered with antique lace, and holds an antique
celluloid clown rattle.
