Description
5 1/2" (14 cm.) The bisque headed doll has cobalt
blue glass eyes, painted lashes and brows,
accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth,
blonde mohair wig, shaped torso, wire upper arms
and legs, bisque forearms. A bellows mechanism
within the doll causes it to briskly "salute"
when the left leg is pressed firmly to a surface,
thus appearing as though the doll is marching and
saluting. CONDITION: Generally excellent.
COMMENTS: French, circa 1880. VALUE POINTS: Rare
little simple-mechanism toy functions well, wears
original silk troubadour costume.
