Pressed bisque swivel head on kid- edged bisque shoulderplate, pale blue glass inset enamel eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, rose blushed eyeshadow, arched multi-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with tiny modelled stuck-out tongue between the accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid gusset-jointed bebe body with bisque forearms and well-detailed sculpted fingers. CONDITION: Generally excellent. MARKS: F. 1 G. (head and shoulderplate). COMMENTS: Francois Gaultier, circa 1880, the kid body model was based on the model deposed by Leon Casimir Bru, and only appeared on Gaultier bebes for one or two years. VALUE POINTS: Early bebe with wonderfully detailed plump facial modelling, exquisite eyes, sturdy original body, rose silk costume and bonnet.
