15" (38 cm). Bisque swivel head with rounded
facial modelling on kid-edged bisque
shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass enamel inset
eyes, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented
nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with
accented lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig
over cork pate, French kid fashion body with
gusset jointing at knees and hips, kid over
wooden dowel-jointed upper arms, dowel jointed
elbows, bisque hands with separately sculpted
fingers. CONDITION: Generally excellent. MARKS:
F. 2 G. COMMENTS: Francois Gaultier, circa 1868.
VALUE POINTS: Beautiful poupee with swivel head,
original wig, rarer body with bisque hands,
wearing superb antique theatrical costume with
very dramatic details of train and applique.
