Description
18" (46 cm). Poured wax shoulderhead with blue
glass enamel inset eyes, lightly inserted brows,
accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth
with pouty expression, blonde mohair inserted
into wax scalp, original soft-stuffed cotton body
with stitch-jointing at shoulders, hips and
knees, poured wax lower arms and legs, bare feet.
CONDITION: Very good, two 1/2" lines on front
shoulderplate, some fading of facial features.
COMMENTS: England in the Montanari manner, circa
1870, the doll appears to represent Alice in
Wonderland. VALUE POINTS: The doll wears original
ice blue silk gown with cotton lace, matching
cotton petticoat and pantalets, pink woolen
petticoat.
