Description
16" (40 cm). Paper mache socket head, painted
clown decorations on the face, brown glass enamel
inset eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked and
multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners and
nostrils, row of tiny teeth, black cloth skull
cap, five piece paper mache body. CONDITION:
Generally excellent. MARKS: 3 (impressed and red
stamp). COMMENTS: SFBJ, circa 1900. VALUE POINTS:
In fresh unplayed with condition, the clown wears
his original ivory and rose silk jester costume
with pom-pom shoes, white felt hat with silk pom-
poms, ruffled collar, and is contained in
original cardboard box from Paris department
store Aux Trois Quartiers.
