Description
17" x 12" box. A wooden box is covered with rich
blue paper and gilt lettering "Jeux" (games),
decorated with brass hardware, and hinges open to
an extraordinary selection of original boxed
parlour games. At the back are arranged game
boards with superb detail of brilliantly colored
lithography, and inside the box are two levels of
game pieces and other games, each presented in
beautiful glass-covered boxes with gilt-edging.
The ensemble is deluxe both in its selection of
games and game pieces, and in its rich
presentation, and is perfectly preserved in its
original state. French, circa 1900.
