Description
The all-bisque doll has swivel head on kid-edged
bisque torso, brown glass sleep eyes, painted
lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and
eye corners, open mouth with slightly smiling
expression, accented lips, two square cut upper
teeth, one square cut lower tooth, blonde mohair
wig over plaster pate, peg-jointed bisque arms
and legs with modelled bent elbows, cupped hands,
very sturdily modelled legs with dimpled knees,
shapely ankles painted grey socks with blue rims
and dark brown shoes with straps and bows. The
doll wears white organdy party dress with lace
trim, cutwork petticoat and pantalets, lace
bonnet. Signed "4". Kestner, circa 1885. 10" (25
cm). rim.
