Description
The solemn faced bebe has bisque socket head, dark blue glass inset enamel eyes, painted lashes, widely brush stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, original composition body jointed at shoulders and hips, straight wrists. The doll wears original red cotton dress with diamond pattern design, lace trim at bodice and hem, matching bonnet, red silk sash, undergarments, shoes and socks, and carries little all-bisque mignonette. Incised "A-23 Paris" on head, and Steiner mark on torso. Jules Steiner, circa 1890. 10" (25 cm).
