14" (36 cm.) Art-plaster sculpted head of adult lady, deeply-set eye sockets, painted blue side-glancing eyes, closed mouth with wide smile and painted teeth, brunette mohair wig with coiled braid coronet, padded bosom, wire lower frame. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: created by Lilly Baitz, circa 1920. An old paper tag attached to the doll suggests that it is a portrait of Sarah Bernhardt in one of her notable roles. Value Points: artistically-painted features are perfectly preserved, original costume.
