Description
Commissioned by the famous Paris department store
Au Louvre, the doll has poured bisque socket
head, large blue glass paperweight inset eyes,
very lushly painted long dark lashes, widely
brushstroked feathered brows, accented nostrils,
closed mouth with shaded and outlined lips,
pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate,
original composition and wooden fully jointed
body. The doll wears antique costume comprising
rose silk dress with lace trim, undergarments,
ivory silk bonnet with rose silk ribbons, black
knit stockings, black leather shoes. Marked "B.
2. L." and artist's checkmarks. Emile Jumeau,
