Description
The bisque socket head doll has brown glass sleep
eyes, painted lashes, dark eyeliner encircling
the eye sockets, brushstroked brows, shaded
nostrils, open mouth, accented lips, two square
cut upper teeth, one square cut lower tooth,
brunette mohair wig, original composition and
wooden ball-jointed body. The doll wears antique
costume comprising dotted Swiss dress with lace
trim, embroidered chemise, stiffened net
petticoat and pantalets with lace edging, lace-
trimmed straw bonnet, shoes and socks. Signed "S
H 5 949". Simon and Halbig, circa 1890. 12" (30
cm).
