Description

The pressed bisque bebe has almond-shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, painted lashes, dark eyeliner encircling the eye sockets, brush stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with accented lips, two impressed dimples at corners of mouth, plump cheeks and defined double chin, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, original composition and wooden fully jointed body with loose-ball-joints at elbows and knees, flat-cut derriere, cupped hands. The doll wears antique rose muslin dress with lace bodice, undergarments, black silk stockings, black leather buckles shoes. Marked "Sch" in shield and "4" on head, and "Sch" in shield on flat-cut of derriere. Included is rose silk tufted chair with carved ebony wooden legs. Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. 11" (28 cm).
