Description
The large blue glass sleep eyes of the bisque socket head doll are enhanced by mohair lashes and painted lower lashes. The doll has feathered brows, accented nostrils of softly rounded nose, open mouth with accented lips, four tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, original composition and wooden ball-jointed body. The doll wears her original folklore costume of Switzerland with lace trimmed velvet bonnet decorated with flowers, black velvet vest, white blouse, flannel skirt with velvet trim, undergarments, black stockings and shoes. Signed "1078 Germany Halbig S&H 4". Simon and Halbig, circa 1900. 12" (30 cm).
