Description
A decorative box is labelled on the lid "Toilette pour ma poupee, K-B Paris Bte SGDG" in gilt letters, and hinges open to reveal well-fitted interior containing a bisque doll and trousseau. The bisque doll has socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, shaded lips, four tiny teeth, brunette human hair, original composition and wooden fully jointed body, and wearing factory original muslin chemise with blue ribbons and lace, woven stockings, cream shoes. Arranged in compartments around the doll are alternate costumes viz/rose or blue silk dresses with matching bonnets, two alternate chemises with different trims, pantalets, handkerchiefs, powder puffs with rose or blue silk backing. The doll is signed "SFBJ Paris 301 1" on head and has SFBJ paper label on torso. Circa 1910. 11" doll (28 cm). 13" x 17" box.
