Description
15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue enamel glass inset eyes with spiral threading, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 2 (head and shoulders). Comments: French, circa 1875. Value Points: the rich decoration around the eyes rendered dramatic against the delicately painted complexion, original wig in deluxe coiffure, antique ensemble, undergarments, kidskin boots, original earrings.
