9" (23 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead with black complexion, bald pate except one tuft of hair at back crown, furrowed brows, black sculpted brows, enamel eyes, thick black sculpted moustache, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, original costume and carrying string of terra cotta gourds and a very rare tin scale. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, exceptional modeling of the scowling expression.
