14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with two different faces which can be alternately revealed by turning the knob at the top of head; one face is a white-complexioned child with blue glass eyes, closed mouth in smiling expression and richly-painted features; the second face is similarly sculpted but has ebony complexion, black glass eyes, closed smiling mouth; with black mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Carl Bergner, circa 1892, with bisque heads by Simon and Halbig. Value Points: very rare variation of the multi-head series with black complexioned face.
