10" (25 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead with bald pate, sculpted deeply-combed sideburns, enamel inset eyes, deeply-set eye sockets, incised age lines, closed mouth with scowling expression, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted white stockings and black shoes, original costume. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, mid-1700s, the stern-faced aristocrat is holding a metal birdcage with bird.
