12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with three various faces which can be alternately revealed by turning the knob at top of head, one face is crying with blue glass inset eyes, applied "tears", painted lashes and brows, closed mouth modeled as though open; a second face is smiling with blue glass eyes, closed smiling mouth with impressed dimples; and the third face is sleeping with modeled closed eyelids and closed mouth; with original fabric-covered muslin body and upper limbs, composition lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Carl Bergner, circa 1892. Value Points: all original doll with wonderful knit costume decorated with rose silk ribbons, original tears on crying face.
