The carton box in the shape of a bombe-shaped chest of drawers with gold-edging and lithographed paper finish to simulate inlays, with gilt ormolu feet and gilt metal drawer pulls originated as elegant candy box (boite de bon-bons) from prestigious Parisian confiterie. Excellent condition. French, circa 1875.
