10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head with very plump cheeks, brown glass sleep eyes, delicately-painted lashes and arched feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with solemn expression, blonde mohair wig, early composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4. Comments: Kestner, circa 1882. Value Points: rare size of the early closed mouth doll, with very fine delicate bisque, subtle blushing of cheeks, original body and body finish, and carrying miniature dog with amber glass eyes.
