19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the richly-shaded lips, brunette mohair wig over plaster pate, early composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists, antique burgundy woven pinafore dress and knit cap, blouse, undergarments, black leather shoes, socks. Condition: generally excellent, light retouch on lower arms. Marks: 13. Comments: Kestner, circa 1885, the doll is known as "A.T. Kestner" for its close similarity to the French bebe A.T. by Thuillier. Value Points: finest quality of bisque with luminous complexion and artistic painting of features.
