Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head, blue glass eyes with spiral threading, dark eyeliner, mauve eye shadow, painted lashes, brushstroked brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, auburn mohair wig over plaster pate, German composition and wooden ball-jointed early body with straight wrists and rare jointed ankles. Condition: generally excellent, light retouch to finish of arms and legs. Comments: Kestner, circa 1882, the doll closely resembles the Circle/Dot early Bru bebe and the body seems to capture the articulation of the Bebe Modele with jointed ankles. Value Points: rarely found model with beautiful bisque, painted teeth, extra body articulation, and beautiful antique costume.
