Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, blue glass paperweight inset eyes with darker blue iris rims, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with well-defined tongue tip between the outlined lips, impressed dimples at philtrum and chin, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, slender kid bebe body with scalloped edge of collarette, kid-over-wooden upper arms, bisque arms jointed at elbows, Chevrot hinged hips, wooden lower legs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 6 (head) Bru Jne 6 (shoulders) Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, Chevrot epoch, circa 1885. Value Points: outstanding bebe with transfixing presence and exquisite painting, original body and perfect bisque hands. The doll, known as Chloe, was previously owned by a celebrated Japanese collector and was made famous by a series of writings in a 2016 Japanese blog.
