Description
25" (64 cm.) (including hat). Bisque socket head, blue glass eyes, painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, French composition torso with characteristic humps at front and back torso, spiral spring arms and legs, carved wooden hands and feet with glued-on pointy-toe shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: for the French market, circa 1895. Value Points: perfectly preserved, the doll wears his factory-original silk Polichinelle costume with matching bow-trimmed shoes and bi-corn hat, and elaborate lace, metallic gilt and brass bell trim.
