14" (36 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead, oval shaped face, center-parted black hair looped in front of ears and captured at the back into a braided chignon, sculpted ears, painted brown eyes, single-stroke brows closed mouth with piquant smile, kid torso and upper limbs, wooden lower arms and legs, painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: regal posing of head is balanced by the very rare softly-shaped coiffure, original costume.
