20" (51 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with elongated throat, center parted hair with thick arranged finger curls at the side of head and triple-braided coiled chignon at the back, painted blue upper-glancing eyes in well-defined sockets, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, slender kid body with wooden lower arms and legs, blue paper bands at kid/wooden jointing, painted orange shoes. Condition: generally excellent original finish with light craquelure lines on shoulderplate. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rare coiffure with well-defined curls and braids, original costume.
