22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated facial modeling and full cheeks, blue glass sleep eyes, lashes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, brushstroked brows with enhancing glaze, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth, with outlined lips, two square-cut upper teeth and one lower, pierced ears, brunette wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden ball-jointed body with straight wrists, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S 13 H 949. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1885. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque with luminous complexion, full cheeks enhanced by deeply impressed philtrum and chin dimples, original body and body finish.
