Description
16" (41 cm.) h. x 12"w. Arranged upon a velvet-covered wooden base is a wooden arbor decorated with silk flowers and flags from which is suspended two wooden gondola double-seated swings; two bisque head dolls are seated in each swing, each with glass eyes, painted facial features, the boys with painted hair and the girls with mohair wig, antique costume, and holding flags. When hand-wound at the side, the swings move forward and back gaily and music plays. Condition: generally excellent, music is a bit rusty. Comments: Germany, circa 1910. Value Points: charming nostalgic scene, the wooden arbor and swings have original gilt-stenciled finish.
